The Clinton Animal Shelter will once again be having an adoption special this Saturday, August 3rd from noon-4pm. For one day only, the adoption fee on all cats and kittens will be waived. The adoption will still include the cat or kitten’s spay or neuter and vaccinations. We would appreciate a donation to help cover their vetting expenses, if possible. Hope to see a lot of people at the shelter Saturday!!

The Clinton Animal Shelter currently has several kitten between 2 and 3 months old in foster homes. This Saturday, July 20th, they will be in shelter for the afternoon. We will be running an extra special deal. For that day ONLY, adoption fee for kittens and cats will be $25, with the adoption fee on the 2nd kitten or cat waived. As always, this will include their spay/neuter and vaccinations. Shelter hours Saturday are noon to 4:00pm. We are located at 1307 N. Washington. Stop by and see the little guys…you just might fall in love!!
The Clinton Animal Shelter has been recognized as one of the cleanest animal shelters in West Central Missouri and, due to this fact, our animals are extremely healthy and happy.
That being said, we always have concerns regarding the deadly disease Parvo, which attacks the younger dogs in our facility. Due to these concerns and possible exposure, we are now in immediate need for foster homes for our puppies. If you can help, please make arrangements quickly by calling Director Heidi Sapp at 885-7999.
Each puppy will be vaccinated prior to their visit and, following a waiting period, they can be returned to the shelter. Food will also be provided.
Also, if you find a stray puppy and are able to foster it yourself for awhile, that would be great. Contact the shelter and we can get all the puppy’s information and make arrangements to have it vaccinated.
Save lives and Save $
Any cat or kitten adoption is only $25.
This price includes spay/neuter, rabies and up to date on all shots. Hurry while supplies last. Arrangements will have to be made to view kittens as they are in foster homes and not at the shelter. Our furries are anxiously awaiting a new home. Is that YOU?

Become a Pet Foster Parent
Fostering a kitten and/or puppy is a fun and rewarding experience! As a pet foster parent, you provide temporary care to an animal until he/she is ready for adoption. We provide all the supplies. All we need is you, your space, and your time.
What To Know Before Getting Started
- What is the age requirement?
You need to be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18 years old, you will need permission from your guardian(s).
- What animals are available for fostering?
Kittens and puppies under the age of 8 weeks and animals with special needs are available for fostering.
- How long does an animal need to be fostered?
Fostering an animal can last anywhere from a few days to several months. It is up to you on how long you want to foster an animal but remember it is temporary.
- How many animals can be fostered at a time?
You can foster only one animal or a litter of kittens/puppies. How many animals you can foster will depend on how much space and time you have.
- What do pet foster parents do?
Pet foster parents prepare the animal to be ready for adoption by providing care, socialization, training, and/or temporary housing.
- What are the other requirements?
Before you can foster, a home visit and an interview must be completed. Once you become a pet foster parent, you must check-in once a week. You can check-in by sending an email, stopping by the shelter, or calling.
- Why do animals need foster care?
Kittens, puppies, and animals with special needs require foster care because they are too young for adoption, need special attention, or shelter space is limited.
- What if I want to adopt the animal that I am fostering?
If you are interested in adopting an animal that you are fostering, please let us know and we can start the adoption process.
